The fifties and the sixties

The nineteen fifties witnessed Cinecittà being the privileged location for making such epic movies as Ben Hur and Cleopatra due to the excellent craftsmanship available in the area. With local skills including the making of effects machinery, scenery and costumes, although the early American productions on location in Rome brought out much of their own equipment, the high transport costs soon turned the attention towards on-site manufacturing expertise.

The original Ianiro factory was a mechanical workshop for making electrical and lighting equipment for American production and rental houses, and it soon became a trusted reference supplier for the movie industry district that was growing up around the Studios.

The Ianiro family took the initiative of designing its own lighting and grip products according to the precise local demand for lightweight and compact lighting fixtures.

The Sixties brought a spreading outwards of Cinecittà's productions from Rome to a host of other destinations. With this evolution the Ianiro name was to earn worldwide renown in the film industry for both its production and international rental services.

The Italian Neorealism films gave birth to a great school of film and photography . Oscars and other European prizes were awarded to directors, some of whom had been working closely with
the the Ianiro family members. From 1960 to 1970 some had also helped in designing the first Ianiro halogen luminaires fitted with the American GE QuartzLine tungsten bulbs (the famous "redheads"). From the end of the sixties onwards the Ianiro factory designed its first daylight luminaires, beginning with the newly introduced Osram Hmi 575W double ended bulb.

The seventies

The Seventies saw the growth of the TV industry and, to meet its needs, Ianiro adapted its product line cater to the new applications, thus becoming as much a pioneer and leader in television lighting systems as it had been for the film ones.

Aldo Ianiro, founder and President of Ianiro Aldo Srl, established in May 1972, is still active in carrying forward the Ianiro family name in the lighting industry. After more than thirty years at the top of its field, his experience is still invaluable for the firm.

Manufacture

The company manufactures the complete range of IANIRO portable and studio lighting fixtures in its Rome production unit .

The manufacturing of the truss systems branded IANIRO ALUTEK, is located in the industrial discrict of Venice.

Distribution

IANIRO is also a major distributor of prestigious brands that integrate with its manufactured products to offer complete lighting systems for the TV and Show Business industries.

Technical Support and after sale service

The Ianiro organization has a technical department servicing all the distributed products in-house and supporting the sales team in conceving and installing the various projects.

The service manager is also in charge of training activities, which are provided as a support to the sale and installation of turn-key solutions.

The products manufactured and distributed by IANIRO carry the CE marking. IANIRO guarantees the identification and tracking of all products manufactured and distributed for warranty maintenance and service purposes.

To provide customers with a complete quality system, IANIRO only sells products which are represented under authorized distribution agreements, so as to guarantee an official and reliable after-sale service backed by manufacturers' warranties.

Ianiro supplies only original spare parts and its technicians are certified by the manufacturers thanks to their regular attendance at the factories' training seminars.
